Osaka trip: Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

It was rainy after we got into our hotel on Sunday (15 Nov) so we decided to check out something indoor like the world-renown Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan.

Slightly regretted the decision because of the immense crowd with countless kids as well...

Since there were so much fish and mammals to see, I decided to post a 1min video as a preview:
My favorite was the seal and the most mysterious was the fishes that didn't move...

Disney must be behind all these...

As I exit, I spotted this:
It was super tempting to pay 1,000yen for a chance to win a big whale soft-toy but knowing that I can never have such luck, I walked away after taking this video... (save money to eat fish instead haha).

Overall a nice place to visit during rainy days but maybe not on a Sunday unless you have kids, they will love it.

  1. I am visiting Osaka for the first time next spring. Do you have any places you would suggest? Thanks for putting up these posts!

    1. Hi Lissa, I would definitely suggest Shinsekai, this aquarium (if you like fishes) and Osaka Castle (which I didn't go). Osaka Castle will look nice during spring cherry blossom season, you can check out the links below as well. You can also buy a 3-day Kansai pass for 5,200yen that allows you to travel in all private rail lines and most buses in Osaka, Kyoto, Wakayama, Kobe and Nara. It doesn't have to be 3 consecutive days so you can adjust itinerary according to weather. Have a wonderful trip ;)
