Back in Japan

I returned to Tokyo yesterday and my first dinner was sushi :) I have confidence that the Japanese people will not let highly contaminated food to get into the market. Fish here is definitely fresher and cheaper than Singapore!

So far, there had been 2 aftershocks, one of which shook me out of bed at 11+pm. Luckily they were nothing major and there was no need to hide under the table. Frequency of the aftershocks is definitely much less than before I left the country a month ago.

There was a major newspaper report about thanking all the countries that had sent their rescue team down to relief the disaster. Singapore sent 5 people and 5 rescue dogs between 3/13~15 (probably left early due to radiation fears)  and Taiwan sent 28 people between 3/16~18. There was also detailed documentation on the number of emergency goods that each country had donated, mainly blankets, food, water and even radiation detectors. My Japanese office said that they were very touched about the support from us all over the world, ganbare nippon!
