It's been a long time since I created wallpapers but I found this one especially nice so I decided to make wallpapers for mobile and desktop too! It falls on 31st Jan this year and we continue to celebrate it for 15 days. My design is based on the traditional Chinese character of the Horse in a shape of a galloping horse with my Evacomics characters riding on it. Red was chosen as the background colour to symbolise prosperity and good luck based on Chinese customs. Wishing everyone a great Horse year! More wallpapers from Smashing Magazine here!

I had been terribly busy moving house, buying new furniture and appliances, and catching up with lots of family gatherings. I made a tweak to the colours so this one is different from the ones at Smashing Magazine (if they choose my work again ^^;;). This design is based on Japanese 初詣Hatsumoude on the midnight of new year. Hatsumoude can also mean first visit to the temple or shrine during the first few days. Sports day is held every October in Japan for kids in kindergarten to high school. And btw, I'm on Smashing Magazine again!

September's theme is "Tsukimi", literally meaning moon viewing. During mid-autumn (sometime in September), the moon would be its roundest and Japanese will eat dango (sweet rice dumpling) while admiring the moon. In the original Chinese culture, we would eat mooncakes instead. Taiwanese, on the other hand, prefer to barbecue.
