The taste of Autumn: Mackerels

Finally Fall is here as the weather gets cooler and cooler. Eating mackerels is a Japanese customs or habit to welcome the new season. This also marks the end of our simmering hot days!

Japanese calls mackerels "sanma" and they can be found everywhere during this season,  even being featured in sushi places.

Not sure if it is due to the fish's season, raw mackerel tastes really great at this time. It is usually topped with a bit of minced ginger and spring onion.

Sanma also tastes great when fried. Over here, I matched it with broccoli sprouts, yummy!
PS: I didn't fry the sanma, it's from the supermarket.
