What salaryman do after work

My Japanese university had an exchange program with a Singapore university and while chit chatting, my Japanese classmates were surprised that we don't hang out with colleagues after work. "Of course we don't hang out with colleagues after work, we go back home to be with our family or hang out with friends," I said. Apparently work is very important to them.

    People in my country seem to have the same idea as Japenese...or at least in my office. They do stuff to "mingle" but hey...I have to see their faces and work with them 8 hours per day, that is more time I spend with them that with my actual family and best friends from College...and I don't even like them! Why on earth will I spend MORE time with them? No no...now I am an office paria because I refuse to mingle...and I am happy XD

    Seems it different culture between Japan/Korea & the rest of the world. Japan & Korea has some things the same. Stress related suicide cases, work load stress, school severe bullies. Spending time with colleagues after work. Agree the part with the rest of Asia, we spend time with friends, family together. That's called quality time

      Yup I think I will change this one later to Singapore instead.
      Because I read from my Vietnamese fans that they are heavy drinkers too, more severe than Japan~
      I heard that Korean guys are really excellent drinkers~ maybe can fight with businessmen from China...

Boiled coke and ginger lemon for cough

This post has nothing to do with Japan, except that I have the tendency to fall sick during long Japanese holidays like year end and golden week. So with weak Japanese medicine not working, and even with kiwis and lemon honey drink all failing, I resorted to my friend's advice: coke and ginger . It sounded unusual so I googled and found the recipe. Amazingly, many people swear that it works wonder to cure their coughs and sore throats, so I decided to try out of desperation because I had already been coughing for four days and four nights. Preparation: Put a can of coke (around 350ml) and sliced ginger into a pot and bring to boil, simmer for 10 mins. You can either add lemon when it was simmering or squeezed lemon juice after you pour into your mug. *I couldn't get old ginger from my Japanese supermarket so I used young ginger that was not so spicy. Verdict: I couldn't believe it, but it tasted rather good! Even my friend who disliked ginger said this remedy taste...
