It has been incredibly hot lately and I find trains and malls blasting their aircon to the max. Many people around me are feeling uncomfortable or having sore-throat. As for me, I'm still trying to recover fully from my last sinus and throat problem but the extreme alternating temperatures is not helping. I had to gulp lots of water everyday to make sure my sore throat and cough doesn't come back!

This is based on readers feedback on my previous comic strip. Just in case any of you are going to visit Vietnam!!! Though I admit wearing spectacles doesn't increase my eye power... (Actually I wanted to do another comparison strip about the roundabout traffic, but there is no characters involved and France has a lot of that too so I scraped it!)

In Singapore, you only give red packets (hongbao) after you are married, as this is traditionally viewed as becoming an adult. As an adult and senior, you give hongbao to juniors to wish them good luck. As you know, people get married young long time ago but it is common to be still single after 30s now. So this creates an awkward moment to receive red packets from younger relatives (like 5 years younger?) . Wishing everyone a great new year with good health, fortune and career!

Yes... the main culprit was Sukiya's Beef Nabe (hot pot): The beef was so good and I always add spring onions to top it to 740yen, which is very reasonable for such a delicious meal. I ate once every 3-4 days for dinner so you can imagine how much Japanese rice and beef was added to my waistline... or is there a waistline now...hmm...

It's the haze season again in Singapore! Yes, it is actually an official season now! Starts from September and might end in November... But apparently it is still far from target (maybe it's too troublesome?) I still go for my yoga classes and went to a Ashtanga yoga class last month at Yoga Inc. And boy, it was very tough, jumping in and out of poses and several repetitive sequences. I think I will go back to my regular hatha and flow classes...

I was recently terribly busy helping out in my alumni's event and doing an urgent commission work so there were not many new comics besides the regular Monday ones. During those alumni events, I networked with many strangers who had never heard of my comics. The most popular comment was " Can you draw me " and " Can you give a talk at our school ". But when I asked if I can sell my books there and if I will get speaker fees, the replies were mostly irritating: " Oh sorry, you cannot sell your book during the talk... We are tight on budget, so can you consider doing it for free ? Think of it as promotion ". The irony was after chatting for some time, it is revealed that they do have LOTS of money. Well, not for me that is. FREE TALK + NO SELLING OF BOOKS = FAT HOPE I did lots of free talk last year and sold my books there. Seriously, I love my new Manduka Eko mat a lot. It's made from rubber and has excellent grip when my palms and feet are both sweaty~ And I made a square one for instagram too: Nevertheless, I still think it's muscles!

And this is my new mat (Eko mat) from Manduka! It's made of rubber so I had to use a mat restore to effectively clean and maintain it :) My first yoga mat!!! Can't wait to practice on it! Somehow I cannot tell if the instructors really forgot or they wanted to train us...hmm...

Got this inspiration when I was chatting with my teacher and owner of Yoga Inc. It seems that the longer you practice yoga, the more comfortable you are wearing lesser and lesser, especially if you are going for Hot Yoga. And this always happen during Hatha Yoga class when there are newbies who can't get the pose right or people with super-tight hamstrings... We had to struggle and hold on to the super long pose and wonder if the teacher had forgotten about us... Needless to say, my thighs always go sore the next day, but that means my muscles were working! :P
