Hotel review: Pullman Saigon Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

We chose Pullman hotel after reading some good reviews especially about their breakfast buffet. The hotel is located in district 1, which is like the hub of the city and 15min walk to Ben Thanh Market, but crossing Vietnamese traffic can be quite daunting. Key attractions like the cathedral and post office were a bit further but they offer shuttle bus service to these places.

WIFI connection was generally good throughout our stay.

We stayed on the 21st floor with awesome view. From here you can see that the buildings are small and narrow.

There was no door to basin so someone could use the toilet while you brush your teeth outside :P

They offer rain shower, though I prefer just using the regular shower~

Toilet was modern and you can flush toilet papers down.

There were also robes and slippers to change into and a safe box to keep your passport.

Their buffet was located on 3rd floor and nicely decorated.

I like their pork sausage :P~

They also serve real honey, like still in the comb! Wish I could take away a jar of that!

Yummy!

Selection for fruits were rather limited but we like their fresh Guava juice.

They had a small pamphlet to indicate the different districts of HCMC. Everybody refers to where they live or work by district numbers so it was a good map to refer to.

It also had the route of their shuttle bus to tourist attractions and was very convenient for us to get around.

Conclusion:
The staff and security guards were really very friendly and helpful. They even made sure that the cab drivers didn't cheat us by opening the doors for us and making sure that everything was ok. They also helped translate our destination into Vietnamese for the cab drivers who could not understand English. Whenever we go out, they would warn us to be careful of our smartphones and bags. Although the hotel was not within walking distance to the cathedral and post office, we had no problems getting around and cab fares were generally around 40,000 dong. We liked this hotel and recommend it to other people who are particular about the breakfast :P
