Where to buy COPIC markers in Tokyo
Because my photo of the markers received so many shares, I realised that many artists are interested about the markers and perhaps want to know where to buy them from. Hence I wrote this guide for artists to shop in COPIC heaven aka Tokyo. ★ UPDATE NOV 2017: Please refer to my new article for latest updates on COPIC marker shopping! >>> Ultimate Guide to Copic marker shopping in Tokyo, Japan
The more I see these comics, the more they remind me of Charles Schultz's Peanuts, and the more I want to see your characters animated... I really like it!
ReplyDeleteRudy
Wow thanks Rudy! Charles Schultz is one of the comic artists I look up too :)
DeleteHe-he ... Your stripe makes me to go tot Wikipedia, and I found something new for me.

BTW, there are many brands which became general names in Russia. Like:
1) Jeep is used for any offroad vehicle ( Toyota jeep for example )
2) Xerox is used for any copy machine ( Minolta xerox for example )
3) Pampers is used for any type of diaper,
etc ...
I think these things happens with any language.
BTW, 'odd japanese english' is very good idea. Once I ate 'cole slaw with beef dressing' in very european type of restaurant in Nagano
ewww...
Beef dressing!? Hmm...... so the sauce came from beef!?
DeleteYes some readers from my FB page pointed out that the word originated from the company that made these pencils popular in Japan. Sharp Pencil do sound more convenient to pronounce than Mechanical Pencil. Looks like Japanese don't like to move their mouth too much (explains less wrinkles on the face? XD)
it was like slightly shredded lettuce with load of beef gravy
DeleteYeah, I bet, it is good way to protect a face from wrinkles. I should use it.
About the funny things: there is huge banner "Snow Monky Park" on the entrance to Jigokudani park.

ewww ...
lol i miss the misspelled words XD
DeletePretty good idea. They have tons of odd words in english, non that I can rememeber right now (crap) but I have the memory that they do so...yeah hahaha
ReplyDeleteHAHA Yeah, I'm starting to forget them too, but there's always google lol XDDD
DeleteYou know what also is odd and fun? The sign languages. For instance, it was always funny for me when they made the sign of "No, it is not allowed" by crossing they arms isntead of just nodding with their heads.
DeleteWow if we nod our heads in means yes!
DeleteWe shake our heads here. I guess head motion is not obvious enough...
Lol...I made a mistake, yeah I meant shake and said nod...my baaaad!
DeleteXDD Overworked XD
DeleteI love the mimic in the second panel (^o^)
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through google+ and I am in awe of your comics. The style and humor are just great.
I am writing a blog about Japan and I was wondering if it would be okay if one is fitting, if I use one of your comic strips to illustrate a blogpost. Of course it would be properly disclaimed and linked back.
Feel free to do so as long as my FB credits and blog url is in place :)
DeleteI just read about your Cozy Shinjuku review, it sounds like a good place to stay in when I go back to Japan for short holiday :P
Since you are from Germany you must also know Jasmine from Zooming Japan, she's another wonderful blogger about travelling in Japan!
