Kamakura day trip Sep 2013
WHOAH~ 7 months had passed since I left Japan but I still have some blog articles to clear before my next adventure (if my book sells well?)! This is about my trip to Kamakura on 19th Sep 2013. Kamakura is approximately an hour train ride from Tokyo and is a popular tourist destination for short get-aways. It's also called Little Kyoto for the numerous number of temples and shrines.
That day was 26 degrees! Nice and sunny!
This is the local train schedule of Kamakura. I was at Hase station to see Great Buddha.
There are other languages!!!
Fish on your feet anyone?
I departed for Kamakura late, so it was time for my lunch!!!
I know you are envious, so am I right now XD
Sashimi is always so fresh in Japan!
My ticket to see Great Buddha, the main attraction at Kamakura.
Perfect shots with clear blue sky that you can never find in Singapore.
Hmm... windows at the back for...?
Oh, we can go inside!!!
For 20yen... hmm ok, you can take it.
Queuing up with kids too to check out what's going on inside...
It's hollow alright!
When one person touches, everyone touches, including me of course.
Break time outside the temple. Tried sweet potato that was said to be the best-selling flavour in Kamakura, but I think soft cream at Kawagoe tasted better (PS. I just realised that I didn't blog about Kawagoe Festival at all!)
Another temple nearby, needed to go to the ladies so I paid for the entrance fee to check out the temple too.
Hmm... how do people keep their garbage??? Their bags must smell amazing...
I didn't stay too long at Kamakura because I wasn't a great fan of temples. Moreover, I had already been to Kyoto and seen enough, so I headed to Enoshima, a small island nearby, to see cliffs and caves instead. However it was closed due to typhoon. This will be my next post!
