Hello Market 2014 at Liang Court 10-11 May (11-6pm)
Here is my friend and his company's booth setting up their stall for the Japanese Flea market today. The space was quite cramped and close to the stage (a bad idea during performances that I will explain later). Some people told me that they were unable to find my "booth" and thought I will be there for the whole day. Actually I have no booth, just a standee poster with gifts from the sponsoring company to give away, so I was only there from 11-2pm as mentioned in my giveaway posts... Sorry if you came much later!!!
They were selling these cats called "Maneki Neko". Lots of shops in Japan has these to bring in wealth for their business!
They also have some graphic t-shirts with cute Japanese packaging (of course right?) and candies. The Yuzu (pomelo) candy tastes pretty good and the Glucose candy is said to give you a sugar boost and become more alert (good for studying and late nights?).
This soy sauce is 100% made in Japan using traditional methods. "Triple-Sec" is a salad dressing that contains Yuzu (pomelo); "Demi-Grace" for dipping meat; and "Honjozo" is a kind of low-salt soy sauce. I was given a set to try and gave away 4-5 bottles for my fans and random visitors who guessed the correct number of cats.
There was also free sampling of onigiri after filling up their survey, but I didn't get to try one...
This is the actual working suit of a ninja as featured in my comic strip:
There were many colours available and each selling for $170. The costume is 100% made in Japan, including the fabric that is said to be made from the same cloth used for kimono! Wear to your office with varying results!!! XD
Unfortunately as I said, since the booth was close to the stage, it later became a popular "parking" space... (kopi, my dog, freaked out of course)
Because of performances... Dancing girls always win.
Nevertheless I am happy to meet some fans and friends. Thank you for coming! :D
And yup, I was supposed to wear my shirt but I grew a tummy recently and thus wore it at home instead...
But not to worry if you are interested to buy my shirt, I will be designing more after I finish my book! Please keep a look out on my FB page or blog for the book launch! See you soon!
He-he, nice event.
ReplyDeleteI think that You are exaggerating a little. It is impossible to grow 'a tummy recently", usually to grow good tummy You should work hardly for a year, constantly dieting with healthy fatty food.
BTW, good to see that despite of be busy You have a time to meet Your funs.
Samurice sounds cool, does they have ninjarice too?
Have a great day,
ewww...
Haha it takes me 1 week to grow my cute tummy and 1 month to shed it lol
DeleteThey didn't have ninjarice, I was thinking about that too :P
I was glad that I met some fans and friends despite my odd timing and no booth there. Gonna target a better one next month!
He-he, Eva's tummy is cute :P
DeleteYou should brand Kopi-rice and Teh-rice then.
ewww ...
Wow thousands of dollars on trademark!
DeleteNope, it should be quite cheap. In states it costs about $300 per one field of application. And it could be costly if You want to register it in many fields. I do not think that is much more expensive in S-pore
DeleteI registered Evacomics in 3 fields and costs around SG$1000.
DeleteAll the pictures seem nice...so anyone could guess/count the cats?
ReplyDeleteReally like Kopi's (Thought it was Rolex...or Rollo?...uhmmm) just perfect face for the stroller invasión hahaha...couldn't ended up better if you had planned it
Haha ya he was renamed from Rolex... come to think of it, it wasn't necessary for the name change =_=;;
DeleteNobody got it right so I had to be there to give hints... a few were really serious though, haha!
