I'm very impressed that the Japanese delivery man or repair man always come on time, well, most of the time! Really good service in Japan!

    Seriously, waiting is a most annoying thing here, and You are waiting everywhere. Once they make me wait in line when I did come to make a charity donation.

      Yes in Japan, they have great service, but to deliver that great service, they let us wait for a damn long time. And somehow Japanese are willing to queue for hours to get it... :/

      Don't really know why You are so focused on money. Look, You always coud make a money if You have a mop. And there is nothig good if You have money only, eventually You will get out of money, it is matter of time. Mop is much better than money :P

    British punctuality was always pro-like but I have to say Jpanese are really serious about puctuality...I do rememeber that if I was running late to meet with a friend I ahd to call the bugger to let her know I was a tad late...seriously...why so serious

      Because.... Japanese are usually very punctual!
      If I'm meeting a Singaporean friend... it would be a different story... I even waited for an hour once for her to show up......

    All of the comments are a pleasure to read. LOL. I'm from the 'Other Countries' section: Oh, they keep us waiting...on top of that, we don't have CBS Channel 2 on TV right now...Cable war, etc. :(

Boiled coke and ginger lemon for cough

This post has nothing to do with Japan, except that I have the tendency to fall sick during long Japanese holidays like year end and golden week. So with weak Japanese medicine not working, and even with kiwis and lemon honey drink all failing, I resorted to my friend's advice: coke and ginger . It sounded unusual so I googled and found the recipe. Amazingly, many people swear that it works wonder to cure their coughs and sore throats, so I decided to try out of desperation because I had already been coughing for four days and four nights. Preparation: Put a can of coke (around 350ml) and sliced ginger into a pot and bring to boil, simmer for 10 mins. You can either add lemon when it was simmering or squeezed lemon juice after you pour into your mug. *I couldn't get old ginger from my Japanese supermarket so I used young ginger that was not so spicy. Verdict: I couldn't believe it, but it tasted rather good! Even my friend who disliked ginger said this remedy taste...
