Work culture in Japan

Based on friend's working experience in Japan, but exaggerated (he didn't play games in office :P ). While it's normal to work overtime till 7-8pm in Singapore, it's normal to work overtime till 11pm-1am in Tokyo...

  1. Ha-ha. Good one.

One my friend, told me that he learned how to take a nap sitting stright with open eyes  He complained that his co-workers reports to boss about each violation of working ethics, like reading news or playing RPG on work place.

    ewww ...

    2. I do not know how, but he told me that he could nap with open eyes. I think that is a result of long years of training. BTW, he is states now and could sleep legally in his cubicle without being catched and punished for that

That RPG game on picture looks very suspicious. What is it?

  2. Ok so I believe that is just sad. Companies eother mesaure your achievemnts by either accomplishment or by doing time (yes, sitting in your desk for 8 hours is like doing time)...The only why I stay after work is ONLY because I have not finish something I should have, and that is final. I was one of the few $%&% that satyed until the boss left the office because "oh no, what would HE think if I leave first" until yeah...I grew some balls :P

    1. LOL, it takes time to grow those balls, I understand perfectly :P

Luckily I don't sit in the same room with my boss back in Singapore.
But he did catch me coming late once... (but nothing happened, so out of guilt I stayed a bit late)
Anyway, I did all my work :P
