Japanese professional baseball game Giants VS DeNA

Japanese professional baseball game
Off to see Japanese baseball again but this time, it is a match between professional teams and not university players like last time.

The game was a match between Giants and DeNA (pronounced as DNA), whose home ground is the Yokohama Stadium. Giants (home ground at Tokyo Dome) is the number one team in Japan so this is going to be a tough match for DeNA.

The chubby hamster is DeNA's mascot, so cute...

... comes with a female version too!
On the other hand, Giant's mascot is a giant orange rabbit... not cute at all, but it can do somersault!
My jaws dropped when I saw it and didn't have time to take out my camera...@@

Because Giants was the visiting team, their uniform's colour was duller than DeNA's.

Young girls and guys in bright uniforms can be seen running around constantly to sell beer, snacks and bento. The way they fold and hold their cash is amazing...

There was a game during the break to choose the best dancer among the audience~ Of course, the kids with funny wigs won.

The game started at 6pm so yes, my stomach started to protest. Unlike in US, where you usually have popcorn, fries and hotdog, here we have shumai (chinese style steamed minced pork), takoyaki (octopus ball) and edamame (beans).

They had shumai fried rice, shumai curry, and shumai yakisoba (fried noodles). Yes, this is Yokohama China Town alright!

Towards the end of the 6th game, audiences started to blow their balloons to get ready the tradition of releasing them before the start of the 7th game.

Yes, screen shows mascot prepared as well.

So basically they don't tie the balloon so when you let it go, it will shoot upwards. My friend really disliked this because... it fills the air with human *bacteria and saliva*... Luckily we were not hit by any when the balloons came falling back. I thought it is supposed to be very hygienic in Japan... ...

Although Giants performance was average at the beginning, they bounced back during the last game, 12-6.

  1. Wow...even in the stadiums the food is rather healthy...and yummy too. I mean a hot dog with beer is hard to replace but a nice octopus ball with an Asahi may do the trick!

The disgusting theory of your friend is too exagerated...want something disgusting? Each human far can add more or less 58cc of methane that is a greenhouse gas, therefore if each person at the stadium would have fated...AHA...so if she is worried about some balloon air...well may think different after this

    1. Maybe the focus is just on watching the game.
In Japan, they take care of audience participation too...I think?
That's why they gave out those cheer gears, took audience photos, and sold balloons...
Oh wait... did I mention you have to pay for those balloons?
